In the mid-1800s, Seven Ancient Manuscripts were unearthed in the depths of the British Museum. Some consider these writings to be the actual words of Master Magician- King Solomon. The manuscripts are considered to be the fountainhead and storehouse of Kabalistic Magic, and the origin of much of the Ceremonial Magic of Medieval, as well as, modern times. Solomon, who reigned as King of Israel in1000 BC, was renowned for his Wisdom as well as "his unhealthy interest in heathen gods" and, according to legend, had acquired a formidable reputation as Master Magician.
The "Secret Seal of Solomon" is a Seal of Protection attributed to King Solomon. The second son of David and Bathsheba, Solomon was the Third King of Israel who ruled around the 10th century BC.
Traditions in Hebrew as well as Syrian, Arabic, and Ethiopic all agree that King Solomon was a "Master Magician" and that he had "authority over All the Spirits as he had over all the Birds and Beasts."
The Secret Seal of Solomon is considered to be, by tradition, the symbol by means of which the "72 Djinn were imprisoned in the Brazen Vessel by the Mogus-King and sunk beneath the ocean."
